Mulberry thieves

I found this note in an envelope attached to my door with a splodge of mulberry juice. Written in scratchy italics on the envelope were the words This is Just to Say.

I have eaten
the mulberries
that were on
the tree

and which
your neighbours were
hoping
to harvest

Forgive me
they were delicious
and humans
are so slow

It was signed William Carlos Figbird. I suspect that's a nom de plumage.

Juvenile figbird finds breakfast

but it's quite a beakful

Can the bird swallow it whole?

Was that ever in doubt?

The young figbird wasn't the only one who fancies a meal of mulberries. It was soon joined by a black-faced cuckoo-shrike.

Ignoring one another

No one saw anything, right?
