What's been happening at the Snail Shell?

Well, the restructuring process at work is best described as confusing. Apparently, the new structure — whatever that is —will be in place by July 1st. And although we're not sure of the configuration — different sources offer different interpretations — we do know that it will be accompanied by what is euphemistically known as downsizing. This is going to get interesting.

And my house is falling to pieces. Literally. Because I can't afford to fix it, it's become a book-lined hovel. Certainly, the books are good insulation but their combined weight is separating the floor from the walls and the walls from the ceiling. What was a sound and cozy cottage when it was built in 1922 is now crumbling and cracking. Still, it retains some charm, which is more than I can say for the owner.

My next house is going to be a bunker.

Not a public one in Oz though ... they are as poorly funded as the snail Shell these days.

Can you hear anything?
No-one calling as if from under a pile of books?

I'm not dead! Just been snowed under with work-related stuff. It's all so depressing. You can't win, whatever you do. Why am I still learning this at my (mature) age?

As for home --- I've stopped going into my front room because the damage is a bit much to cope with at the moment. As we all know, if you ignore a problem it goes away.
