A musical interlude
I play guitar like this. Oh, wait, I don't play guitar at all. But I do have nails like that. At least, I did before I cut them. Bugger. I suck at this game.
Tap-style! It's what the DM plays, only not on guitar anymore, on the Chapman Stick. Film at 11:00. Er, film later than that. Film when I take some. Maybe this weekend. Nails? Urk.
Ah phooey. Them fingernails's fer gerls. They'd break on Kottke's piano wire ax, so he does it with calluses. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=wQKbwLqKEOI
And the olden days before he had a thumb callus. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=tew_fIhz3eY

Geez, how doesn't he rip 'em off?
I just did a quick search and it turns out they're acrylic, which would explain their robustness.
I used to use my (natural, completely non-acrylic) nails in micro-dissections. A thumbnail is excellent for slicing up soft tissue.
Perhaps I've said too much.

Sherrie, I'll put up the link here
Anon, now we're going back to the old days ...
To everyone, the first clip is great. (NO rickrolling!) The sound on the second one isn't so good but that could be my speakers.
