An occasional blog about natural history, travel, books and writing ... and anything else that catches my attention.
I love Brush Turkeys... and love the photo Snail...Not sure if I mentioned before that I had the privilege of living amid about 16 Brush Turkeys at a place I rented in Bauple Qld...The main male was stunningly handsome. When I'd go walking with my then Doberman Felicity, he seemingly shrugged his shoulders in the way he adjusted his wings, and would join me and Felicity for a walk about the 15acres and we'd chat.Phenomenal feeling walking along with my Felicity on one side and the stunningly handsome Brush Turkey on the other.Renting is such a .... well I'd better not write it ... hurts to have to say good bye to Friends... I still hope he and all the others are safe and well.
Sixteen of them! My goodness! I'm usually accompanied by one or more turkeys when I take the rubbish down to the bins. But I suspect that's more because they are hoping I'll drop something edible. Not that I have so far, but they are optimistic birds.
