I'm not sure if this is the same mum and joey that I photographed at the start of this month, but they like to sunbathe in the same spot. The young one is getting so big that s/he can barely fit into mum's pouch.

It is always lovely to see joeys around, but it is especially nice to see them now since my favourite juvenile delinquent Pip has disappeared. She's probably been run over or killed by dogs ('oh, my animals are well-behaved and don't attack wildlife, that's why I let them roam'). Or, and I'm betting on this, the brush turkeys have had her kidnapped and relocated. Pip, you might remember, is also known as the Scourge of Megapodes, the Furry Fury and the Oncoming Cute Little Storm.

Here's a pic I prepared earlier:

aaaaaw...i'm hoping Pip was just relocated by the (selfish) turkeys!

wow...what a load that young one in the pouch is! my back hurts just looking at Mum!

I'm really hoping she's wandered off, but she was very attached to this place.

Joeys still try to get back into the pouch even when they're obviously too big! They have to content themselves with just a drink of milk usually. You often see one of these big babies with its head half-buried in the pouch, while its mum has a resigned and weary look on her face.

Just imagine the productivity increases if people had THESE cuties on their office walls!

It doesn't help my productivity, I can tell you!

(And I've just noticed that I didn't include a title. D'oh!)
