I thought the circus had put up a big top in the back garden, but it was only a mob of helmeted friarbirds taking a dip in the bath. There was so much squawking and squabbling and jostling that even a passing brush turkey gave them a look of disapproval.

They were in the garden

In the trees

They were in the water

Up to their knees

And while they were drying

In the sun

Someone else was having fun

Male figbird (northern form)

I love these pictures, especially the one of the bird drying off. I haven't been blogging much at all of late but I'm glad I came by.
I noticed you've published a book! Congratulations.

Thanks, sarala. We've both been quiet lately, occupied with Real Life. Good to see you!
