I'll be back tomorrow with some livelier stuff. Trust me.

Hi from SW WA and scribbly.

I'm sorry you seem to have mislaid your teaching vocation - at least as it applies to first year massed ignorance - and I hope you get some renewed direction from writing, or at least give yourself a relief-valve putting stuff down online.
A few of the more gifted bloggers claim that it is their best way to keep in training for "proper" hard-slog writing, and I think if a person has a gift for communicating this way, then it must be at some level a compulsion, and blogging, with the classic habituation reward of comments, probably both scratches the actual writing itch and delivers the feedback to keep the writing on course, more regularly than print publishing could ever do.
And with that breathless and timeless sentence, I demonstrate that I am not a compulsive writer.

As for not many comments yet, if it's a concern; there never are many except on trendoid, us v them political, or porn blogs. Take the silence as satisfied lurkers. Sometimes overawed ones. Which it usually turns out to be when a blogger is providing content and style.

Just don't get dooced unless you want to: I give you Heather Armstrong's actual words on the topic
"I started this website in February 2001. A year later I was fired from my job for this website because I had written stories that included people in my workplace. My advice to you is BE YE NOT SO STUPID."

Anonymity was apparently no defence.

My blog tip for you is Bencruchan Blog
And don't drag your feet getting an entry in for the next Circus of the Spineless; professionals are needed to steer all those enthusiastic amateurs.

all the best,

Thanks, darky.

The comments aren't a concern. (Although it is a thrill to see them appear in my e-mail inbox! I'm not going to pretend it isn't.) I still haven't quite worked out the purpose of this blog---if it has to have a purpose---but it certainly functions as a relief valve now and then.

Thanks for the links, especially Bencruachan Blog. I'll visit that one often.

See you on Scribbly!
