The Pienaar Identity

Matt Damon to star as Francois Pienaar

Matt Damon will star as the captain of South Africa's 1995 World Cup-winning rugby team in a film to be directed by Clint Eastwood about Nelson Mandela and the transformative effect of the sporting win, weekend newspapers reported in South Africa.

Pfft ... Pienaar. The important question is who are they going to cast in the roles of Andrew Mehrtens and Jonah Lomu?

Inquiring minds want to know.

And how embarrassing are the accents going to be?

:)

I've worked out how to portray Lomu --- a fast-moving tank with an AB jersey pinned to it.

Good questions, indeed. There's a guy playing for England who is as fast, but not as wide as Lomu.
But if you are looking at actors, well... Wesley Snipes is too small. And too old.
As for Mertz ... nah, I can't bear to think of who they'll come up with. Thank god Russell Crowe is too old.
