Okay, I'm back!

Finished the book manuscript on Monday. Haven't had time to celebrate yet. Too much going on at work with exam and assignment marking, endless meetings, stupid bloody training sessions and games of Bullshit Bingo played using the global emails as a source. And then there's the threat of retrenchment --- they'll let us know on 8 December who's "excess to requirements". What happens then? Check out the screen caps below to find out …

Fear of redundancy. What a way to go.
What's the book on? Congrats for finishing it.
Nice to see you posting again. I was getting insect withdrawal. Mollusc too.

You can see how well this has been planned. I am going to be soooo disappointed if I don't get a letter.

The book's about living with wildlife in the house and garden. Am currently working on the illustrations. It should be out in June.

Hi Snail
Welcome back to the bloggosphere.

As for the bureaucratic manner of the planned redundancies, do you really need to be there - surrounded by such "clinical" people?
I hope it turns out for the best for you.

Living with wildlife in the house and garden! Fabulous! Snakes under the bed, bats in the heat ducts, mice in the shoes...

Oh wait. That was my OLD house.

How about a book on spineless weasels at the head office?

I returned ... and then I got speed limited! Ya just can't win, can ya?

Am refusing to get too upset about the impending lack of income and the need to sell my house etc etc. There are worse things.

However, I'm reserving the right to be appalled at the manner in which the whole thing is being handled.

I too spent a month or two in career limbo, then within a week I was inundated with possibilities. I hope you too get not only the options, but one that stands out.

Where am i going with this? Well, I have a spare room now and need someone to keep this bloody 18yo boarder in check. ;)

Once you get past the chit, redundancy can be just liberating. But has this actually happened? If so, how could they? Pffft - there goes my theories about study in Aus.

We'll find out what courses are closed by COB tomorrow, apparently. Once that's determined, they'll be naming names.

The letters are supposed to be handed out on Monday, although we'll all be on strike, so we're not sure how that's going to work.

Probably as well as that flow chart.
