Road Trip, Day 2: Shepparton to Narrandera (NSW)
After a small detour to Tatura, I headed north again, crossing the Murray River just before lunch.
Welcome to New South Wales
Giant Murray Cod at Tocumwal
I enjoyed the light rain and roadside puddles all the way from Shepparton to Narrandera. It isn't that easy to watch birds at 110 km/hr, but I've spotted yellow-billed spoonbills, straw-necked ibis, galahs, eastern rosellas, crested pigeons, emus, kookaburras, wood ducks, white-winged choughs, apostlebirds, pied butcherbirds, whistling kites, nankeen kestrels, and a wedge-tailed eagle, as well as the usual ravens, magpies and magpie-larks.
To Coonabarabran tomorrow.
