Although I didn't check the dead animals, I'm pretty sure both adult and joey (on different sections of road) were hit by cars. Not impressed by some of my neighbours. (Hugely impressed by others, though.)
Sorry about your pademelon losses. I guess pademelons aren't territorial then. If I armed my mongooses they'd wipe each other out with great enthusiasm.
Hmmm... I didn't think about paddies doing hop by shootings. It could be carnage!
Luckily, they're not so much territorial as hierarchical. The males give out instructions over who can feed where and when. They mostly do this by hissing at each other, but will occasionally resort to fisticuffs if anyone gets out of place. That could get ugly with firearms!

That's terrible! Poor 'paddies'!!
The male was one of the contemplative duo featured a week or so ago.
Was it dogs?
Cheers

Gawd it is frustrating trying to get people to consider slowing down while driving..
:(
rocket-rpopelled grenade launchers may have some persuasive power.
I could adapt the RPG launcher and roof-mounted axle-cutting laser from my anti-caravan kit ...
