A sweet new resident
Crinkle Cut, mother of Poppet, has a new joey, which made an appearanace for the first time today. It will be a while before this little cutie leaves the pouch, but I hope it does as well as Poppet. (And stays away from the python.)
Lulu, but baby rats are cute too! (For quite small values of 'cute'.)
Not sure how old this one is, but I've seen it wriggling around in mum's pouch for a few weeks now. It's a bit like Alien. Well, a G-rated version of it.
His mum has her work cut out for her because she's got another joey in her pouch and is still feeding him. She often sits around looking exhausted.
Pademelons are small rainforest wallabies. There's about half a dozen species in E Australia and New Guinea. Ours are the red-legged pademelon (Thylogale stigmatica).
...you have such a variety of creatures and critters over there...i wonder how that came to be????!! these little guys are just too cute!!!! and that photo with the little one's head poking out...priceless!!!! :]

They look a bit like baby rats, though, don't they? How old is this one?
Aww! So cute! Its little face looks almost hairless.
*stifles "awwwwws" and smiles*
can't have people thinking I am a softie.

Mick, it is still hairless as far as I can tell. Will keep an eye on it to see when it starts growing fur. (If the python doesn't get mum.)
jj, go for it!
I've given names to all the paddies. How soft is that?
Sarala, I feel privileged to have these animals living so close to the house :)
