Jottings from the Tropics: 6 Jan 2012

I know. I know. You shouldn’t blog in a bad mood, but honestly, I’ve been in a bad mood all day. What am I supposed to do?

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am sweet natured and gentle and almost impossible to upset. They’d tell you that because they know what would happen if they didn’t it’s true. But today has been One of Those Days and it doesn’t show any indications of getting better. Worse, yes. Better, not a freakin’ chance.

Anyway, I am going to sit here for a while with a cup of tea and a pile of books and I am going to drink the tea and read the books and listen to the afternoon chorus of eastern whipbirds, brown gerygones and king parrots* and if anyone — anyone — interrupts, I am going to call in an airstrike.

Self-portrait (Or a stinging tree. Hard to tell the difference at the moment.)

* Those links have MP3 files of the birds' calls. Scroll down the right-hand column to Calls**.
** You can probably work that out.
