A working weekend

I can tick off this morning's deadline, but now I have another — 9 am Monday. Fuelled by coffee, pumpkin soup and apple pie, I'll have my head down, shoulder to the wheel and nose to the grindstone all weekend. Not sure how I'll be able to consume pumpkin soup in that position, but I'll give it a go. Living on the edge ...

The weather is still gloriously clear and dry ... and cold. Down to 4oC here this morning and only 12oC on the coast. But once the sun came out, the wildlife started jostling for the best spots. The brush turkeys always win.

Try a big straw. The heck with the soup, it's the apple pie I would be worried about not consuming-LOL!
Gosh, apple pie...haven't had one in years. hmmmmmm.

Fascinating diet you are contemplating! The Turkeys sure are a pushy lot - hope the Paddies don't get pushed right out. Good luck with the next dead-line!

G'day Snail,
Cold, you want cold? Get back here to Victoria right now!
Glad you're back blogging, love your words and pics but only its mother could love a brush turkey!
Regards,
Gouldiae.

Had apple pie the other day and it was absolutely delicious! It'd have to be a thick straw for the pumpkin soup --- maybe a siphon?

The turkeys are pushy, but the paddies sometimes fight back. One of the young adult males (Munchkin) has developed an active dislike for them and will often chase them away! There'll be a showdown one day, but he's winning so far.

Hope you're not frozen, Gouldiae! The turkeys are reasonably well-behaved here. But the scrubfowl ... That's another story.
